Ted launched his financial career in 2003 with Merrill Lynch’s Global Wealth Management division. There he served as a Certified Financial Manager and a Senior Financial Advisor. In 2009, Ted affiliated with the independent channel of Raymond James and became a founding member of First Landing Financial. Ted’s focus at First Landing was overseeing the group’s Private Client division, as well as acting as the primary Investment Manager for those clients. In 2018, Ted helped found Cape Henry Private Wealth Group, a boutique financial advisory practice catering to higher net worth individuals, families and businesses. His long-term, 30 year business vision is to grow Cape Henry into the premier private wealth group in the mid-Atlantic region by continuing to add like-minded financial advisors who also have a passion in helping clients achieve their goals.

Ted is a graduate of Christopher Newport University in Newport News, Virginia, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in business administration and played Shortstop on the Baseball team. He holds the Series 24 securities license and acts as a Branch Manager for RJFS. He has earned the Certified Investment Management Consultant℠ designation awarded by the Investment Management Consultants Association, as well as the Accredited Investment Fiduciary^® designation, awarded by the Center for Fiduciary Studies. Other licenses he holds include the Series 7, Series 66, and life and health licenses.

Outside of business, Ted is a lifelong resident of Virginia Beach, where he lives with his wife, Lori, and their three children, Gracie, Benjamin and Abbie. Ted and Lori are actively involved in raising their children, in their learning, their faith, and the many extracurricular activities they enjoy. They are both members of London Bridge Baptist Church where they volunteer in various respects, are actively involved in Youth Group and a weekly Small Group, and attend Sunday services. Ted and Lori have had various roles with the Good News Jail & Prison Ministry throughout the years and still remain active supporters of that ministry.

Ted is an avid golfer who enjoys the occasional round or golf trip to world famous courses in the United States and around the world. In his spare time, he also enjoys playing music (mostly guitar) and surfing with his kids.
